A rare watercolour by an international artist who flourished in the 1920 -30's, As a watercolour landscape painter, G Trevor used bodycolour or gouache to
heighten his compositions. His subjects include Dartmoor, the Lake district, Wales, Scotland and South Africa.
Sometimes he used a 'flourish' at the end of his signature - a sort of a Y. It could read Trevory. But it isn't. It's TREVOR.
If you learn anything more about the artist please let me know.
I get a number of emails from various owners of G.Trevor paintings. Like me, you've probably inherited a G.Trevor from a
grandparent in the family. I don't know the value of YOUR painting, I wouldn't part with mine for under $2,500.00
An up-market auctioneer in Johannesburg declined to list this painting, presumably because the value isn't much in the academic art world,
but as a full-time artist myself I can appreciate this giant talent and experience. Ask your local auctioneer to estimate the value of your painting.
I have told you everything I know about this artist - I'll glady answer your email but THIS IS ALL THAT I KNOW.
If YOU know anything more about G Trevor please tell me - I get enquiries all the time and I'd like to put the
information on this page for all to see. There is very little info about this on the Internet so thank you for sharing.
